Come and walk in Masada without getting up and getting tired for the snake!

We invite the surfers of "Israel Today" to join a fascinating tour of the last stronghold of the Jewish freedom fighters against the Roman army.

And for those who also want to physically visit the site, it will be open to visitors as early as Tuesday.

Masada symbolizes the end of the kingdom of Judah at the end of the Second Temple period and its violent destruction.

The national park preserves on the mountain platform the remains of magnificent palaces from the time of King Herod and silent testimonies to the Roman siege and the bitter end.

The glorious remains alongside the heritage have made Masada a symbol in Israel and around the world.

It is not for nothing that it has been recognized as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

Our tour will begin with an ascent to the top of the mountain by cable car in the eastern compound of the site from the direction of the Dead Sea.

While ascending the cable car we can get excited about the view of the Dead Sea and the cliff of the replicas and of course the snake trail that stretches below us and leads with a challenging ascent to the top of the mountain.

Upon leaving the cable car we will walk to the heart of the archeological site.

From there we will continue towards the western lookout of the site and be impressed by the beauty of the Judean Desert.

Next we will walk towards the remains of the synagogue on the mountain, one of the only ones preserved from the days of the Second Temple.

We will sign our tour by visiting the upper level of the northern palace of the mountain - Herod's magnificent private palace.

The northern palace is a bold structure, built at the top of the mountain according to an abyss.

The balcony overlooks the replica cliff of the Judean Desert, the Dead Sea and the Roman siege array.
