News reporter 12 Carmel Liebman was attacked with eggs and stones thrown at his vehicle, when he arrived in Beitar Illit to cover the opening of studies in Talmud Torah in violation of instructions.

"A few minutes ago, during a coverage of the opening of studies in violation of the instructions in Talmud Torah 'Mea Shearim' in Beitar Illit, I was attacked, with stones and eggs," Liebman tweeted in real time from the field.

The police who were called to the scene pointed, he said, an accusing finger at him: "The police force that arrived accused me that the press coverage was fermenting and ordered me to leave the place. While I was trying to get out of there with the vehicle and also at this time, dozens of people surrounded me.

"For minutes I sat in the car while dozens crowded around me, throwing eggs, knocking on windows and shouting insults at them 'Nazi'. When I managed to leave the Talmud Torah where the gathering took place and parked a few blocks away, the crowd came and surrounded me again," Libman continued on Twitter account. "Sources with whom I speak to the police make it clear that they intend to enforce the guidelines," Libman wrote.

"We do not see pictures of police officers entering schools and dispersing students, but there is an intention as a first step to apply to principals and local authorities. Then, in case of need to hand out reports and summon directors of educational institutions for investigation."

A police spokesman (SJ District) said:

"As of this morning, Israeli police officers are working in the city of Beitar Illit and Modi'in Illit to enforce the educational institutions, some of which have opened their doors to students in violation of the guidelines.

As part of the enforcement, the police turn to the directors of the educational institutions and instruct them to disperse the students safely to their homes, write a report to the director of the institution and summon them to the station.

Alongside this, there is a dialogue with the mayors and rabbis of the city to order the school principals to close the educational institutions that were opened in violation of the regulations.

As part of the enforcement, three reports have so far been filed with the school principals in the amount of NIS 5,000, and two principals have been summoned to the station to register a report.

"Meanwhile, a complaint was received and a report was received from reporters that during coverage at the entrance to the schools, they were attacked by dozens of boys who cursed at them and their vehicles were damaged as a result of throwing stones and eggs at them.
