The oppressive message from US film star Jeff Bridges should hit his fans: "As the dude would say ... New S ** T has come to light," tweeted the actor, who was primarily known for his role as tipsy lazy "The Dude." "became known in the cult classic" The Big Lebowski ".
With these words, the 70-year-old made his lymph gland cancer disease public.
"Although it is a serious illness, I am happy to have a great medical team and the prognosis is good," wrote Bridges.
"I'll start the treatment and I'll keep you updated."
Bridges received a total of seven Oscar nominations and eventually won the award for his portrayal of an aging country singer in "Crazy Heart" from 2009. He starred in "The Last Bite the Dogs" with Clint Eastwood and in "The Knife "with Glenn Close.
In another tweet, Bridges thanked them for their messages of support - and wrote, with a view to the US presidential election in a few weeks' time: "As long as I still have you, please remember to vote. Because we are in this together."
