A prestigious database created at the University of Oxford, Our World in data, decided to stop giving statistical information on
coronavirus
tests
carried out in Argentina due to a revelation made by
Clarín
at the beginning of October.
This information showed that there are many negative tests that in the country are not registered in the national database and that this would lead to two problems: the positive rate would be higher than the real thing and the number of tests would be greater than the that is reported.
Through Twitter, a manager of ourworldindata.org, Edouard Mathieu, stated: "We have decided to remove Argentina from our database. The information provided by the Government is
not of sufficient quality
to correctly reflect the magnitude of the tests."
This problem, as
Clarín
also reported
, was admitted by the national government last Friday, when through a statement it reported that as of this week it would begin to apply a different method to measure the tests and the correct registration of those that give negative .
