Photographs by Peter Lindbergh, paintings by Max Liebermann, Emil Nolde, sculptures by Franz von Stuck - there are masterpieces at the art fair Highlights in the Residenz.

Not everything affordable for everyone, but highly worth seeing for everyone.

  • From October 22nd to 25th you can visit the highlights in the Munich Residenz

  • Masterpieces in the three-digit to million euro range

  • Due to the corona, only 100 visitors are allowed access at the same time.

That's pretty cool.

You are invited to a private dinner - and you bring your own knives with you.

Not the cheap mass production.

In these times when you have to make yourself comfortable at home, grandmother's favorite saying is back in vogue: "It should be something chic."

Grandma would definitely like the noble cutlery case from 1570.

Those who visit the Highlights Art Fair in the Munich Residenz from tomorrow can marvel at the Renaissance piece right in the entrance area.

From the outside it looks like a shiny fish.

But if you open the leather head at the level of the gills, you will discover six leather inlays.

Made for the six associated knives.

"With that you could surprise every society in the 16th century", says Georg Laue from the Georg Laue Kunstkammer (Munich / London), which offers the wonder object.

But before Granny pulls out the checkbook, the granddaughter discreetly points out the cost: 160,000 euros.

Great art has its price.

Top class art from all eras and genres

Should have it too.

And even if you can't afford any of the works that range from three-digit to millions of euros, you can still enjoy exploring the individual stands.

Because the nice thing about this top-class fair is year after year: so colorfully thrown together, across genres and epochs, you rarely find top-class art gathered in one place.

You can hop from one Pinakothek to the next and further into the Lenbachhaus (which is definitely recommended!) - you get the all-round hit in one place here.

Including enthusiastic dealers who naturally know how to present the treasures.

Everything is enlightened.

For example, the Munich gallery owner Ira Stehmann is exhibiting pigment prints on gold leaf by the Spanish duo Albarrán Cabrera for sale.

One of these passionate art educators is Ira Stehmann from Ira Stehmann Fine Art (Munich).

Still fondly remembered the Peter Lindbergh exhibition in the Kunsthalle Munich in 2017, you could easily buy a Kate Moss portrait for 35,000 euros, which the master photographer once created for Vogue.

Right next to it are the contemporary works by the Spanish artist duo Albarrán Cabrera: pigment prints on gold leaf.

A procedure they developed themselves.

The influence of Japan on these extraordinarily radiant images is unmistakable.

They are available from 1800 euros.

Monstrous, this glow, this vital shimmer in the landscape motifs.

Cherry blossoms, a sunrise over a mountain range or koi in the water basin.

The colored carp are a symbol of luck in Japan.

That too: en vogue at all times.

The highlights can be seen on October 22nd from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and from October 23 to 25.

Visit October from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. in the Residenz (Kaiserhof entrance).

In order to avoid waiting times and to comply with the Corona regulations, you are asked to register online beforehand at www.munichhighlights.com.
