(ANSA) - MILAN, OCTOBER 21 - According to ANSA, the new positives recorded today in Lombardy are over 4,000, compared to about 36,000 swabs performed.
These are record numbers for the region that bring the buffer / positive ratio to around 11%, compared to 9.3% yesterday.
About 300 of the new positives are hospitalized in covid wards and eleven more are patients in intensive care.
The previous record of positive cases was last March 21 with 3251 positives but a much smaller number of swabs.
The positive cases in Lombardy, 4,126 according to unofficial data, have therefore doubled compared to yesterday, when they were 2,023.
Almost double also those of Milan and its province, today 1,858 compared to 1,054 yesterday.
The growth in the swabs / positive ratio is less than 2% due to the record of tests performed.
