Until the end, the organizer Raiko Schwalbe worried whether the Munich art fair ARTMuc could take place.

She may.

Until October 25, 2020 there is great art here at low prices

  • ARTMuc has existed since 2014, where artists can sell their works directly - without intermediaries

  • The hygiene rules are strictly observed

  • 75 artists from all over Europe are represented this time

For them it was a career springboard.

As for the ballerina, which the Tutzingen artist Martina Hamrik lets fly in many of her pictures, the first ARTMuc art fair six years ago meant a take-off to the next level for her too.

“I still remember exactly how excited I was to present my loop pictures at this big fair.

Whether that would work.

She did it, ”says the Bavarian by choice, born in Kenzingen near Freiburg in 1967, smiling.

This loop technique, which enhances the dynamism of her painted figures, is Hamrik's own invention, a patent-protected design.

The works appear three-dimensional, the dancer seems to jump out of the picture.

There is a lot of energy and joie de vivre in every motif.

Perhaps that is the reason why Hamrik has received a lot of calls from former ARTMuc visitors in the past few months.

“By constantly staying at home, many people have begun to make it a little nicer at home.

And then some of them remembered my name - my art is also decorative and, like me, quite positive. "

That is why she is so happy that the ARTMuc can take place again this year (the exhibitors were worried until the very end).

That Munich fair where the individual artists can sell their works directly, without intermediaries.

Hamrik has been there from the start and has only paused once.

Because she loves the venue, the former soap factory on the Praterinsel (“simply wonderful!”) And because there is no other fair as familiar as here: “I also go to many other fairs, but the ARTMuc is always my highlight in the year.

Everything is super professional, it runs really smoothly and correctly - and at the same time everyone involved is friendly, approachable, interested, helpful.

You know everyone now - from security to cleaning staff, ”she enthuses.

Competition between the artists?

On the contrary: “We exchange ideas, give each other tips for other possible presentation locations;

quite a few nice contacts have already been made.

Great for networking! "

The artist is now in international demand

In fact, since the first ARTMuc in 2014, Martina Hamrik has attracted the attention of several galleries.

“That is also the specialty of the ARTMuc: The proximity to my place of residence and my studio in Gauting.

At the fair you only have a limited number of pictures with you;

my studio is nearby, and over the years the trade fair visitors have dropped by me. ”Basel, Vienna, London - Hamrik now sells internationally.

But the start is in Munich.

Info:

In September there was already the re: start: a small-format special exhibition by the organizer Raiko Schwalbe, a kind of test for the ARTMuc, which he now carries out on the Praterinsel like every year.

75 artists from all over Europe can present their works until October 25th.

Under strict hygiene rules.

Guests are only allowed to enter the premises on the hour.

In the meantime, access is possible when other guests leave the ARTMuc.

The fair is open today and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Admission: 14 euros, free for children under 16.
