"Koh-Lanta": and Bertrand-Kamal left ...

2020-10-23T21:25:12.227Z

In this Friday's episode, Bertrand-Kamal, candidate who died in September, was eliminated after a test in Koh-Lanta on TF1. U

That it hurts the heart this episode.

Bertrand-Kamal's tears are imprinted on the retina for a long time.

Never a sequence of "Koh-Lanta" will have returned us to this point.

When we took our seats in front, we were nevertheless serene.

The bubbling Hadja had been wiped out after wasting the Yellow Rice.

The adventure was taking its course.

But now, a test changed everything.

TF1's flagship show has unsheathed its own salt: its twists and turns, and the departure of the one we did not expect.

Or rather, that we did not want.

The luminous Bertrand-Kamal, who died on September 9 of cancer, lost his footing to a hook throw during a playoff game.

What an emotion to see this heartbreaking “goodbye” from Dijon to his teammates.

Impossible not to think about the disappearance of the candidate.

Just before, however, the good mood was there.

Alexandra, Brice and Lola had won the comfort test.

The first had won a burger, the second a shower, and the third a clue for an immunity collar.

Brice compared his massage to an orgasm before his comrades sniffed it to "find the smell of clean".

Embarrassing.

For her part, Alexandra returned with her stomach "too full" after having devoured "not a burger but a cow".

Finally, Lola struggled to find the necklace under our amused eyes.

"One of you will be eliminated at the end of this immunity test"

In short, we were smiling.

Until this announcement from Denis Brogniart: “One of you will be eliminated at the end of this immunity test.

The candidates then dug to squeeze under barriers, before the hook throw.

Objective: collect pieces of wood.

Angelique wins the totem pole.

Alix, Loïc, Laurent, Joaquina follow… Little by little, there are fewer and fewer left, then two.

And which candidates: Dorian against Bertrand-Kamal.

One has won the obstacle course, the holy grail of trials, while the second shines on all fronts.

When Dorian lines up his last piece, Bertrand-Kamal has none.

Stupor.

The mines of the candidates, without exception, are undone.

This is where the strong moments of the candidate in the adventure, with his unalterable smile, unfold before our eyes.

What happened?

Contacted by phone, his friend Loïc still cannot believe it.

“We dug together, it was our strategy to go faster.

But he may have pulled too far because of his strength.

The more successful people around us, the more cloudy the brain becomes.

When I saw Dorian facing Beka (Bertrand-Kamal's nickname), it was the descent into hell, remembers the Savoyard.

It was a pillar of

Koh-Lanta

.

He had an extraordinary mind.

I was sure he would go to the posts.

His absence created a huge void in the camp.

He always had funny ideas like doing makeup with charcoal.

Who could not love Beka?

"

"I was almost sadder than him"

Also close to him, Hadja, eliminated during the previous council, saw him join the jurors' residence.

“It was a shock.

He told me of his disappointment but with a smile as always.

I was almost sadder than him.

"

But there.

They both know it.

This departure from the screen is perceived differently today.

“I knew this would be the last time I would see him.

I was apprehensive.

I could not have watched this episode alone so I was with Laurent on Friday evening, admits Loïc.

These episodes were a way of letting him live a little longer among us.

Watching them did me good.

"

By reviewing certain images, Hadja remembers moments shared with him.

“One night I was wriggling in my bed because I was afraid to go outside alone.

Bertrand-Kamal offered to accompany me.

The sky was beautiful so we lay on the ground for 20 minutes.

It is one of my fondest memories.

We often had bad weather and he was my sun.

We were planning projects like doing a column together and it hurts all those planned things that we will never do.

The prospect of not seeing him again on Friday evening pains me.

Bertrand-Kamal, a charismatic candidate who left too early

Moved, Loïc confides that he did not see his friend again after “Koh-Lanta” because of his cancer.

“That's what was the hardest part.

We had lots of plans together… He was the brother I didn't have.

In the face of illness, he was extremely strong.

He saved the energy he had left to send us messages when he was exhausted.

Until the end, he thought of others before him.

With the Greens team, we watched the first episode with him by videoconference.

That night, he was smiling jokes.

From the big Beka: he was trying to make us laugh as usual.

There was no more human than him.

He wanted to prove to his relatives that he could succeed

Koh-Lanta

.

It was his dream and he did it as a true adventurer.

It will be etched forever.
