The incidence rate is calculated by reporting the number of positive tests per 100,000 inhabitants over a given period, here a week.

It is a key tool for gauging and comparing the evolution of the epidemic in a territory.

The figures are provided to you here for all age groups, as well as for people over 65.

But the incidence figures only give a partial view of the evolution of the epidemic, with many people not going to be tested, others not showing any symptoms.

Faced with the overheating of the test chain, delays in reporting figures were also observed in some departments.

That is why they are provided to you on a rolling seven day basis.

Only an analysis over several weeks allows us to get an idea of ​​the current dynamic.

The virus can also spread elsewhere than in the municipality of residence of the people tested, in particular at their places of work.

A municipality subject to strong population mixing is therefore also potentially exposed.
