(ANSA) - TURIN, OCTOBER 21 - It is in Rivoli, in the Turin area, the first Italian school to equip itself with a technology for air purification through a sort of virus 'burner', batteries polluting agents, which uses light instead of fire.
The 'Covid-proof' school, where it is still necessary to continue following the ministerial directives for the containment of contagions, is the Giulio Natta institute.
112 Air Panels were installed in the 27 classrooms, devices that use WIVActive technology which, through photocatalysis with visible LED light, uses doped titanium dioxide.
A system capable of generating an oxidative process through particles generated by light which inactivate the polluting molecule.
For the virologist Fabrizio Pregliasco, Health Director of the Irccs Galeazzi Orthopedic Institute in Milan, "this system is interesting in general for the problem of indoor air quality. As far as the Covid is concerned, it represents a further barrier to diffusion. It is in fact fundamental - he explains - that there are many actions, thinking that every protection system has flaws and that therefore we need to have more barriers that will allow us to live with the virus that will still be present for a long time ".
