Since 2008, the calculation of union representativeness has been based on the audience collected during professional elections.

To be considered representative, a power plant must have at least 8% of the vote.

In companies with more than 11 employees, it is the number of elected members of the Social and Economic Committees (CSEs, which replace the works councils) that is taken.
