Corona fatigue: The markets take care of it - Column

You have played sports, studied, ate yourself well and trained - but now many people are tired. Because of Corona. But mostly because of a labor market that exploits them.

Tired man: save people, fire people

On October 16, the WHO warns that many people are tired of the corona restrictions.

Sounds strange, but I can't help it, the WHO people probably know what they're saying.

And of course they are right, because you can see for a long time that people are a little tired.

You have put so much effort into making a good impression on the job market, you are exhausted.

They have played sports, have learned, ate themselves well and trained, they have tried to become machines but are replaced by machines.

Or let's say: released to devote yourself to interesting new tasks.

Sibylle Berg is a writer and playwright.

In 2019 her bestselling novel "GRM. Brainfuck" was published, and in 2020 the discussion volume "Nerds save the world".

Berg has received numerous awards for her literary work, most recently the "Bertolt Brecht Prize" and the "Swiss Grand Prix for Literature".

Together with Matze Hielscher she can be heard every 14 days in the podcast "Wesensfremd".

But enough pessimism, the good news is: Hurray, the ships are casting off and people can finally enjoy their right to boating again.

Okay, going ashore is not possible in some cities and countries, but what should you do on land when you can do your part on such a magnificent ship to contribute to the downfall of the world.

Speaking of which - nothing is more repulsive than teaching.

Do what you want.

Voyage on quarantine ships that may no longer be allowed to moor anywhere, including mooring.

Perhaps creating a free state on the sea is a great idea.

Didn't the entrepreneur / philosopher (sorry, philosopher! He's too good) Peter Thiel support such ideas?

The rough fantasy: a state where everything is privatized, there are no taxes, no losers to pay for.

Although, just asked theoretically: If the state is the entrepreneur - who will save companies in one of the coming financial crises or pandemics?

The markets have always regulated the life of the oligarchs quite well in an eternal cycle: owning means of production (inheriting it is best), avoiding taxes (we say minimize, we mean: outsource companies to tax-friendly places, invest freely), hoard stocks and real estate and in the case of bankruptcy: let the state - that is, the people - save you, then release these people.

Why governments keep playing this old game remains their secret.

Is it the job in business that beckons when you finish your political career?

Is it the voice of the voters who are too stupid to understand that the old story of the jobs to be saved is long gone?

Is it the lobbyists or the friendship with the entrepreneur that has become really close on the golf course?

We will never know.

The circle of state-subsidized cruise ships closes here very elegantly, I think.

Now, since the citizens who have almost become shareholders of the through their tax payments, it is also their right to cruise around a little on the boats.

The markets handle the rest. They handle everything.

A cheer for the markets.
