(ANSA) - ROME, OCTOBER 24 - The mayor of Istanbul, EkremImamoglu announced that he was positive for the coronavirus and that he had been hospitalized after having accused a bit of fever. The Guardian reports it.
"Last night around 9pm he had a fever of 38 and I decided to spend the night in the hospital," he said in a video. "Now I feel fine, the fever is not high", from his room in the American Hospital in Istanbul.
Imamoglu was elected mayor of the Turkish metropolis in July in 2019 for the CHP party after defeating the candidate supported by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his Akp party. (HANDLE).
