Upon learning of the death of actor and creator Yehuda Barkan, his friends asked to say words in his memory.

In conversations with "Israel Today", they tell about an exceptional professional with a unique personality.

Tuvia Tzafir: "I knew Yehuda in the military band. I was in the Nahal and he is in the Northern Command, and we were both leading stars in our bands.

Very quickly he entered the film business, where he developed vigorously and with huge success.

The connection between him and the camera was immediate.

The camera loved him and he had the instincts of a great film actor with a tremendous comedic sense.

"I got to play alongside him in 'Charlie and a Half' and 'Snooker Celebration.' The audience also fell in love with him in the dramatic roles he played with talent. We all always looked up to him with admiration. We started to be friends, a kind of bunch formed that sadly lined up. It contained the The late Yigal Bashan and Manny Peer, and Yigal Shilon and Israel Gottesdiner will be separated for a long life - a group with humor and laughter that was fun to be a part of.

We spent time together until the wee hours of the night, meeting when everyone came from their show.

"We were very good and close friends until the last minute, we met several times this year and it hurts me a lot. He left behind dozens of Israeli films with unforgettable roles and I salute him. He was a wonderful actor. Since I was sick in Corona, which fortunately was easier, I hoped he would pass. I did not get any breathing problems, but I was at home with a high fever and I still have side effects like fatigue and exhaustion. I told myself he would get through it. I know Yehuda, he's a fighter, but I started to get more and more worried when I heard from his son Roi what was going on. "I wanted to visit and I could not, so I was updated daily on his condition. Unfortunately he did not get out of it. Our cohesive group is starting to shrink, which is worrying and sad."

"Thank you for who you were for me"

His close friend Motzi Aviv: "We knew the military band, we served together in the Northern Command. We went a long way together, we were close soulmates and maintained close contact throughout the years. In recent years he suffered physically and financially, he also had difficult background illnesses and unfortunately the corona overwhelmed him. He was a lively and happy man, generous, a really special man who in recent years repented but kept working in the field. A year ago we had a nice meeting of several generations of the band, there were some we first saw after 50 years. Even then he came with He crouched and felt bad, but enjoyed meeting everyone. "

Actress Lia Koenig said: "I first met him when he was a high school student in Netanya. My husband Zvi worked with teenagers and one day I came to fill his place. I was already an actress on stage and he was so excited about our meeting. Later he told me that was the moment he decided to be an actor Years later we met on sets of his films - 'Lupo', 'Katz and Kerso', 'Two Heartbeats', and later we played together in the series 'Love in the Fall', which was very successful and as part of its filming we had many hours together. "Very much the world of cinema, we felt his love for everything he did and we had a great relationship, we got along really well and it was fun and pleasant to work with him. I'm sorry he passed away, he was able to do many more things."

Michal Yanai: "I met Yehuda 30 years ago, when I was 18, in an audition he did for me for 'Kiss in the MPC'.

I was an enthusiastic girl with some experience in theater and television, but I had never participated in a movie.

In retrospect, working alongside him was the best gift I could ask for.

My first film with someone who was not only the partner / actor with the most experience you could ask for as a beginner actor, but also a person who is all humility and a great desire to share and teach.

An actor, director, producer or screenwriter has a unique talent set, and Yehuda had them all.

"It was fascinating to see how when there is a director on the set he will not disturb him, even if he knows how to direct this scene better than him ... he knew how to give everyone the respect they deserve. Thank you Yehuda, for your crazy contribution to the film industry, for being generous "Attentive as an actor and as a person, thank you for laughing so much, for being cheerful, and for giving me the first opportunity to be on the big screen. Thank you for who you were for me and for everyone who watched you. Rest in peace on your bed."
