The English Tao Geoghegan Hart won, after a two sprint over the Australian Jai Hindley, the 20th and penultimate stage of the 103rd cycling Giro d'Italia, from Alba (Cuneo) to Sestriere (Turin), 190 kilometres.
Hindley is the new pink jersey for a matter of cents: in fact he has the same time as Geoghegan Hart.
The penultimate stage offered a great show and awarded Geoghegan Hart who, although he had lost the second bonus of the flying finish line a few kilometers from the finish against his rival, thanks to the victory in Sestriere - added to the game of bonuses - he managed Jai Hindley at the top of the overall standings.
However, the Australian of the Sunweb climbs to the throne of the pink race for a matter of hundredths of a second, calculated on the basis of the placings of the two time trials disputed so far (Palermo and Valdobbiadene). Another time trial, tomorrow's from Cernusco sul Naviglio to Milan (15.7 kilometers long), will decide the 103rd edition of the Giro d'Italia. It is the first time that two riders have presented themselves at the start of the last stage with the same time.
