"Knowing of Judah's death is very difficult for me. My family and I are experiencing great grief. I feel terrible because I was hoping he would cross the corona. Judah was a human being, just a human being.
"He passed away as a Tzaddik on Shabbat. We made several films together that will remember and accompany the people of Israel with joy, much joy. We part with him in great pain. We planned to work together again after he recovers. Beyond being a wonderful actor, who contributed much to Israeli culture, he was human. "It's a great pleasure to work with him. May his memory be blessed."
Barkan died on the night between Friday and Saturday, after battling the corona virus. Friends and public figures told about the man and the professional he was. Tuvia Tzafir, who starred alongside the late Barkan and made a name for herself in "Charlie and a Half" and "Snooker Celebration," said: "We were very good and close friends until the last minute, we met several times this year and it hurts me a lot. He left behind dozens of Israeli films in which he performed memorable roles and I salute him. He was a wonderful player. "
