Two young men were seriously injured in a suspected car race in Baden-Württemberg.
A 19-year-old and a 21-year-old driver drove close behind one another at high speed near Metzingen south of Stuttgart, the police said on Sunday.
In the event of an overtaking maneuver, the two cars would have touched despite an evasive maneuver.
The 21-year-old's car got off the road, rolled over several times and then got stuck on the roof.
The young man and his 22-year-old passenger were reportedly taken to hospital with serious injuries.
The 19-year-old driver of the other car, which had skid, was uninjured, according to police.
By order of the public prosecutor's office, both drivers' licenses had been confiscated.
The investigators estimated the property damage to be around 24,000 euros.
