Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu and the entire board of directors of the club resigned with immediate effect.
The decision was made at today's meeting.
This after having learned that the 'Generalitat de Catalunya' had made it known that it had not detected "legal and health impediments" that could prevent the holding of the referendum of Barça members set for 1 and 2 November with the Camp Nou.
Referendum in which the members will vote no confidence in Bartomeu, and which the president had tried to blow up or postpone.
First by denouncing to the Guardia Civil alleged irregularities in the collection of signatures (report sent back to the sender), then clinging to the Covid emergency, and finally asking the Secretary for Sport and Physical Activity of the Generalitat to postpone the meeting to 15 and 16 November to ensure greater safety of the participants, considering that many of them are over 60 and resident outside Barcelona.
Requests not accepted, and hence the decision to resign.
Meanwhile, Barcelona will play in the Champions League against Juventus tomorrow.
