Pending the announcement on Wednesday evening of new measures that could go as far as a new complete containment, the latest figures on the evolution of the Covid-19 pandemic do not invite much optimism.
According to Public Health France (SPF), 288 deaths related to the coronavirus were recorded in hospitals, against 257 the day before.
Recall that Monday's figure also included deaths that occurred during the weekend.
Since the start of the pandemic in France last March, at least 24,180 people have lost their lives in hospital.
The total death toll is now 35,541, with the 235 additional deaths counted since Friday in social and medico-social establishments such as nursing homes.
Patient transfers between regions
In intensive care units under pressure, there are currently 2,918 patients who are taken care of as of Tuesday, or 148 additional patients in 24 hours.
If we also take into account the discharges, 431 patients with Covid-19 were admitted to intensive care in one day.
In France, the current capacity is around 5,800 beds that the public authorities intend to increase in the coming days.
On Tuesday, the Regional Health Agency (ARS) of Pays de la Loire announced that it was expecting eight patients transferred by plane from Auvergne Rhône-Alpes and ARS Bretagne for its part welcomed four patients from Occitanie.
