Public Health France had initially announced 257 deaths before correcting this figure to 258. The total toll since the start of the epidemic is 35,018 deaths.

2,700 new hospitalizations in intensive care.

More than 2,700 Covid-19 patients are hospitalized in intensive care, 357 new serious cases having been admitted to these services in the last 24 hours, a figure that had not been reached since April, according to Public Health France.

The test positivity rate continues to increase to 17.8%, against 17% the day before, and only 4.5% at the beginning of September.
