You have never heard of such a combination of talents:

as part of the "Order of the Hour" project, Dana International hosted Shachar Hasson, BEMET (Hod Moshonov) and Hava Alberstein, to perform the beloved children's song "Cheerful Choir".

Adi Beatty in response to the storm: "Is the corona over?"

"What's beautiful about this song is that it's the most innocent children's song, but it also has something cheeky and playful that can be understood a little differently," Dana says.

The song was originally performed by Alberstein, and Dana says that her only concern about performing the song is because of her.

"She's such an icon, that the songs she sings don't touch," she explained.

"It's also pretty clear that there is no one in the country who can sing Hava more beautifully than Hava. It really stressed me out. When we approached her he was afraid to ask her to give the kosher stamp with a few sung words, which to me have a lot of meaning and saying if you listen beyond 'Tzif Tzif', about "That there is a generation that is already given less space, I did not really believe it would happen, but she was so vocal, understanding and full of charm and kindness. It moved me terribly and also made me love and appreciate her even more.

"It was during this unpleasant and depressing period," says Dana, "that we thought, and it did not come easily, but after a lot of deliberation, when we almost recorded another song with another singer, to go with the stomach and do something a little different. Happier. Enough. "Seeing news and hearing lamentations. I feel like something happy and real is coming from me, and it seems to me that a 'cheerful choir' with birds beeping and whistling and spending all night, it's really me."

Dana tells when she fell in love with the song, it happened to her like to many of us, in kindergarten.

"I love this song very much from kindergarten and since then it has been playing in my heart all these years. The first time was in kindergarten in Tel Aviv. We did it in the Tu B'Shvat show, and the role the teacher gave me was to be the grumpy and grumbling cypress, so I only had the two The lines of the cypress at the end of the song, and the whole show I had to stand with my arms outstretched to the sides and not move, when everyone around me danced and jumped ... When I got to the role of the cypress in the studio, I'm afraid I did it a little too much like that girl in the show.

In any case, I was very dissatisfied with that position of the cypress and here is the correction ... ".

"Cheerful Choir" was written by Leah Naor and composed by Nurit Hirsch.

The song was first performed by Alberstein in 1967, and now, as mentioned, it is being re-released as part of the "Order of the Hour" project, in which about 50 new performances of Hebrew classics were recorded.

The project is funded by the Nacht Foundation and aims to create work for musicians, producers, technicians and everyone involved in the project.

Among the artists taking part in the project: Assaf Amdursky, Etty Ankry, Eviatar Banai, Amir Dadon, Dikla, Miri Mesika, Danny Sanderson, Nasrin Kadri and more.
