(ANSA-AFP) - DHAKA (BANGLADESH), OCTOBER 27 - Tens of thousands of protesters took to the streets in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh, calling for a boycott of French products and burning an image of President Emmanuel Macron who had defended the cartoons depicting the prophet Muhammad .
Police estimated that more than 40,000 people took part in the march organized by an Islamist party: the demonstrators were stopped before they could approach the French embassy.
tens of thousands of protesters marched through the Bangladeshi capital calling for a boycott of French products and burning an effigy of President Emmanuel Macron after defending cartoons depicting the prophet Muhammad.
Police estimated that more than 40,000 people took part in the march organized by an Islamist party that was stopped before it could approach the French embassy in Dhaka.
