Investigators in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania searched 40 objects belonging to 24 suspects from the right-wing extremist scene on suspicion of illegal gun possession.
The proceedings are directed against members of the "Nationales Bündnis Löcknitz" group, said a spokesman for the Rostock public prosecutor's office.
This is mentioned in the state's protection of the constitution report because it is close to right-wing ideas and represents "unconstitutional views".
The suspects did not include police officers or members of the armed forces, the investigators said.
300 officers from the state and federal police were involved in the searches of apartments and offices in the region around Löcknitz.
According to the public prosecutor's office, the investigations result from previous searches of two suspects.
The two men, aged 52 and 44, are suspected of preparing a serious act of violence that is dangerous to the state.
