Only through his relationship with Meghan Markle did he learn what discrimination meant: Prince Harry spoke about unconscious stigmatization in an interview.

Speaking to Black Lives Matter activist Patrick Hutchinson, Prince Harry admitted that he knew little about racism prior to his relationship with Duchess Meghan.

Referring to unconscious prejudices, he said, "I had no idea they existed."

It took him many years to realize that.

That only changed when he began to put himself in the shoes of his wife Meghan.

The video interview was recorded by the UK's GQ.

The reason for his lack of understanding was that he was not prepared for it with his "upbringing and education".

The 36-year-old spoke to Hutchinson about the "Black Lives Matter" protests and what should now be done to fight racism.

The black activist became famous for his moral courage in June.

During a demonstration in London, Hutchinson carried a white counter-demonstrator who had fallen to safety amid riots.

Prince Harry and his wife Meghan gave up their royal duties at the end of March and moved their center of life from England to Los Angeles with their son Archie.

In the interview, the Duke of Sussex also said that it was "very interesting" to follow and experience the "Black Lives Matter" movement from America.

Every day is a learning process.

The two fathers also spoke about their responsibility as role models.

Prince Harry said the meaning of his life was "to leave the world as a better place".

It wasn't until early October that he and his wife had spoken to British Standard about similar topics at the start of the Black History Month.

There Harry and Meghan mentioned a number of representatives of the anti-racism movement - including Hutchinson.
