Celebrity Chef Nigella Lawson uploaded a recipe to her Instagram and explained how she upgrades the taste of pasta with the help of pieces of stale bread.

Nigella taught her 2.2 million followers how to turn leftover bread into delicious bread crumbs with lemon and garlic.

"I always prefer to take the opportunity to use outdated ingredients instead of throwing them away," she wrote to her followers.

She prepares the bread crumbs in a food processor and not in

What ingredients do you need for this pasta?

Spaghetti of course, salt and pepper, olive oil, one lemon, bread crumbs, garlic, parsley leaves and chilli gros.

Preparation

  • Boil water that you have salted generously and add the pasta.

  • In a pan put olive oil and lemon zest.

    Add the pre-prepared bread crumbs and gild them.

  • Strain the pasta - but keep a ladle full of the pasta water on the side to help enrich the sauce.

  • Mix the pasta with a little olive oil and the juice of half a lemon.

  • Add salt, pepper, chili chips and crushed garlic to taste.

  • Now add the pasta water you kept aside.

  • Sprinkle over chopped parsley and the bread crumbs you fried - and serve.
