The Slovenian Primoz Roglic (Jumbo-Visma) won the eighth stage of the Vuelta, the Logrono-Alto de Moncalvillo of 164 km, with an arrival at high altitude.
Roglic preceded the leader of the general classification by 13 seconds, taking about ten seconds behind him.
Third is at the finish, the Irish Dan Martin is in the standings.
