In the midst of the debate on the land seizure and the right to private property, Buenos Aires Security Minister Sergio Berni asked the Justice on Wednesday to
postpone
the eviction of the land seizure in Guernica
until Monday
.
Berni requested it through a letter and arguing that the announcement of rains and storms would force the eviction to be carried out in "
adverse weather conditions
."
"We have a date for the eviction for Friday, but the judge asked that it not be done with adverse weather conditions and storms are forecast today and tomorrow," Berni remarked in statements to C5N, minutes before sending the letter to the judge.
In the text, Berni asked the head of court 8 of Cañuelas to extend "until Monday, November 2 of this year, the measure ordered by the court in your charge, including Saturdays, Saturday, November 31 and Sunday, November 1. 2020 to carry out the assigned tasks. "
The brief presented by Sergio Berni.
For his part, the Buenos Aires Chief of Staff,
Carlos Bianco
, assured that the Buenos Aires government will carry out the eviction "when the Justice so orders."
"When the Justice orders it, it will be necessary to move forward and carry out the eviction," said the official, and specified that the Government proposed solutions for the families who occupied the land, recalling that "the majority (of the occupants) have already accepted a voluntary eviction ".
And he added: "There are permanently evictions throughout Argentina, they
are situations that can be very traumatic
. Work is being done to make the eviction as orderly as possible."
Speaking to
Futurock
, Bianco stressed that "a lot of time has been worked to try to get people to withdraw in a peaceful, orderly, consensual, and hard work, with temporary and partial solutions that our Government has proposed."

"It should also be noted that
there are some organizations that do not have the objective of ending the situation in an
orderly and peaceful manner, that is, other factors are also at play," he warned.
And he closed: "Now there is a small group, we do not know the final number. When the Justice orders it, we will have to move forward and carry out the eviction," he said.
The land claimed by its owners, some 100 hectares,
were occupied last July by some 1,200 families
living in Guernica and others who resided in the districts of Almirante Brown, Lomas de Zamora, San Vicente, Florencio Varela, Ezeiza and Esteban Echeverría.
After the complaint before the Justice by the owners and the Bellaco SA firm, the La Plata Guarantee Judge Martín Rizzo ordered the eviction of the property, a decision that was postponed twice at the request of the provincial government, and has a new date completion limit next Friday.
