The new service
is only intended for shipping, reports dpa.
Buyer or seller protection does not apply when collecting on site.

To secure the
purchase
, the amount paid will be held in trust for up to two weeks, the report said - from the Dutch company Online Payment Platform, with which Ebay classifieds worked for the service.
If the buyer confirms receipt of the item, the amount will be paid directly to the seller.
