(ANSA) - ROME, OCTOBER 29 - The avalanche at the origin of the Rigopiano tragedy of January 18, 2017 broke away from Mount Siella at 16:41:59, going down to the valley and entered a canyon and at 16:43:20 it hit the hotel at a speed of approximately 100 kilometers per hour. It took place within a minute and a half, the event costing the lives of 29 people, and which from the point of view is reconstructed for the first time in the research published in Scientific Reports, by the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (Ingv), Politecnico of Turin, WSL Swiss Institute for Snow and Avalanche Research and University of Munich.
