The update also shows that since midnight, 23,191 tests have been performed, 384 of which have been positive - and thus the rate of positive tests is 1.7%.

Yesterday, 34,636 tests were performed to detect the virus, 688 of which were positive, and their rate was 2.1%.

There are currently 11,164 active patients in Israel.

759 of the patients are hospitalized, 440 of them are in critical condition and of these 191 are respirators.

768 staff members are in isolation.

Before the Corona Cabinet convened tonight to discuss further easing, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he would have no problem ordering a crown of cities whose morbidity would rise. "We know how to crown the disease. We will not hesitate to put restrictions on an orange city to prevent it from turning red," Netanyahu said at a press conference he convened before the meeting.
