(by Cinzia Conti) (ANSA) - ROME, OCTOBER 29 - Even if the whole world of tourism has been experiencing a situation that has really lasted for 8 months now due to the disappearance of all non-European tourists and the drop in European ones, a second lockdown could really be a fatal blow.

To do the calculations is the Demoskopika Institute on the basis of data collected from some sources such as Siope, Bancad'Italia, Istat, UnionCamere and Cerve.

If it were decided, immediately, for a second total block of activities, tourism could lose, in the last two months of the current year alone, 13 million arrivals and 35 million presences with a cost reduction of 4 billion euros.

Furthermore, almost 100,000 companies in the Italian tourism sector would risk bankruptcy due to a further loss of financial strength with a decrease in turnover of around 23 billion euros.

An entrepreneurial mortality that would immediately affect the labor market with a loss of 440,000 jobs.

A negative sign also for the municipal cassettes, with missed collections, in just 60 days, of over 84 million euros.

"It is no longer time for daily solutions: the government - explains the president of Demoskopika Raffaele Rio - recognizes" the state of tourist calamity ", the state of crisis and finally plans an integrated recovery plan for the tourism sector, including proposals and resources from institutions at various levels , starting from the Regions. A single package of measures that, immediately, contains measures of protection actions for companies and autonomous workers in the supply chain such as, for example, the tax credit, the strengthening of social safety nets or the institution of a fund for coverage of insolvencies or bankruptcies ".
