New clashes erupted between Armenians and Turks.
On the evening of Wednesday, October 28, members of the Turkish community, which would belong to the ultranationalist organization of the "Gray Wolves", went to Décines to "do battle" with the Armenians.
The town houses the Armenian Genocide Memorial, a symbol of the community.
A fight had broken out earlier in the morning, on the A7 motorway, at the Vienna toll, during a demonstration in support of Armenia.
Quickly, the blockage turned into a confrontation, leaving four injured, including one with hammer blows.
The conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan is now echoing in France, the demonstration would have been motivated by the fear of a "second genocide" in Armenia, explained Arthur, one of the demonstrators.
That same evening, the nationalist Turks gathered in the streets of Vienne and Décines.
Many chanted pro-Erdogan slogans, or even death threats to Armenians.
A show of force that did not injure anyone according to the police.
