The most beautiful Italy, 9 new entries in the register Rural landscapes

The Minister of Agricultural, Food and Forestry Policies Teresa Bellanova signed the decrees for the registration in the National Register of nine new Italian rural landscapes (ANSA)


 - Green light to enter the National Register of rural landscapes of historical interest, agricultural practices and traditional knowledge for nine territories: the agricultural landscape of historic olive trees of the "Feudo di Belvedere" - Località San Nazario - San Nicandro (Foggia).

The "Polycultural Landscape of Fibbianello" of the Municipality of Semproniano (Grosseto);

The Landscape of the "Terraced Vineyards of the Rhaetian Side of Valtellina";

The Landscape of the "Roman Reclamation and Flooded Fields of the Rieti Plain" - candidacy presented by the Nature Reserve of the Lungo and Ripasottile Lakes Park - (Rieto);

The historical landscape of the "Bonifica Leopoldina in Valdichiana" in Tuscany;

The "Agro-Silvo-Pastoral Landscape of the territory of Tolfa", in Lazio: "the Terraced Agricultural System of the Val di Gresta" in Trentino;

"High Pastures of Lessinia" in Veneto;

The "Rural landscape of the terraced vineyards of the Cembra Valley" in Trentino.



The decrees for the registration in the National Register of nine new Italian rural landscapes were signed by the Minister of Agricultural, Food and Forestry Policies, after the recent approval by the National Observatory of Rural Landscape, Agricultural Practices and Traditional Knowledge.



"An important step in the action to protect the historical rural heritage of our country", declared the Minister.

"A commitment that will continue with conviction in order to safeguard more and more those agricultural, forest and pastoral landscapes, which have best preserved the historical characteristics linked to the permanence of forms of production, uses of agricultural land, farming techniques, land arrangements , landscape mosaics and artefacts, linked to quality food production ".
