Covid-19 in France: 223 deaths and nearly 36,000 new cases in 24 hours

According to the latest official data published on Saturday, 223 deaths have been counted in the past 24 hours in hospitals in France.

This brings the number of people who have died in hospital since the start of the pandemic to 25,137.

In total, including the 11,651 deaths recorded in social and medico-social establishments such as nursing homes, the Covid-19 has caused the death of 36,788 people.

In the intensive care units, 3,443 patients are currently being cared for in the intensive care units, ie 175 more patients than on Friday, taking into account discharges.

The number of people hospitalized because of the coronavirus continues to grow at high speed. 23,013 Covid-19 patients were in hospital this Thursday, against 22,153 the day before.

In one day, 35,641 positive cases have also been confirmed for a total of close to 1.4 million infections since the start of the pandemic.

The positivity rate continues to climb.
