(ANSA) - ROME, OCTOBER 31 - The actor Sean Connery has died. The family reports this, reports the BBC. The Scottish actor, best known for his portrayal of James Bond, whose role he wore in seven of the British 007 saga films, was 90 years old. His career spanned decades garnering numerous awards and accolades including an Oscar - in 1988 as a supporting actor in 'The Untouchables' with Robert De Niro and Kevin Costner - two Bafta and three Golden Globes.
He was named 'Sir' by Queen Elizabeth II in 2000, (ANSA).
