With 231 new deaths recorded in hospital in 24 hours according to the latest official figures, 37,019 people have lost their lives due to the coronavirus.
25,368 of them died in a hospital establishment while 11,651 deaths occurred in social and medico-social establishments such as nursing homes.
More than 3,500 people in intensive care
In the intensive care units, 3,569 patients are currently being taken care of, ie 126 more patients than on Saturday taking into account discharges.
The increase in the number of people hospitalized is also in the hundreds (+995).
24,008 Covid-19 patients were in hospital this Sunday.
Epidemiologist Arnaud Fontanet, member of the Scientific Council, warns that the number of hospitalizations and entries into intensive care units "will climb" over the coming days.
“We cannot prevent it”, then it “will come down, return to where we are today in about a month,” he added during the RTL-Le Figaro-LCI Grand Jury.
