"Nothing will stop us": A couple of Israelis decide to flee the quarantine and fly to the other end of the world
While most countries in the world are under restrictions and the biggest dream of most of us is to go on vacation abroad, a married couple from Hod Hasharon decided to fulfill it and travel the world, despite the challenging period. Daniel and Sapir embarked on a journey three years ago that included trips to 39 countries with visits Short in Israel in between.In their photogenic Instagram account dream.salty they document the moments we missed so much.In a conversation from Mexico, they tell about the experiences, challenges and plans for the future.
"Right at the beginning of the corona we managed to visit India a second before closing the borders there, and since then we have traveled for a while in the country. We took our followers with us to see the most beautiful places we have in Israel and no doubt we have an amazing country. "We decided to run away. It was not easy, the bureaucracy during the corona almost disrupted our plans and we almost missed two flights, but we did not give up and luckily we were able to do it and fly."
Is there no fear of traveling the world and especially in such countries during the Corona period?
"We've been in Mexico for a month and a half, we rented a car and we travel almost everywhere in the country. We have no plans, we have no organized route and we just enjoy the absolute freedom. There are five star hotels and there are also hostels. It doesn't really hurt the experience, we are heavenly happy. "
How similar is such a trip to what we knew before the Corona?
Mexico is one of the only countries that is 100% open to tourists from all over the world.
No need for isolation on arrival, corona check or special documents - take a flight and arrive.
Almost everything is open, the parties and mass events of course do not work as usual, but the attractions, hotels, restaurants, beaches, shopping - everything is open and they are just waiting for the tourists to come.
There are ads for Corona, in hotels and restaurants requiring masks, heat testing and disinfection, and most people walk around with masks on the street.
Once we arrived there were almost no tourists and it was easy to find a way to maintain social distance, today we feel that Mexico is slowly filling up with tourists especially from the US, but still, it is possible and necessary to keep distance. The atmosphere here is amazing, if not the alcohol we would forget Corona: real freedom, amazing beaches, great food and equal prices - especially because of the lack of tourists, so all prices are low.Mexicans miss the Israeli audience that usually rules the streets here, they are excited to hear that we are from Israel, they know Hebrew and are waiting for Israelis to return. It's scary here, as soon as you land here and drink the first cocktail, you feel that you can breathe, rest and finally relax. "
And how does it feel to travel as a couple on such long trips?
When traveling for a long time as a couple it is clear that not everything is rosy.
We quarrel, get angry, laugh, make up, smile, get pissed - just go through it all together.
We have been together for 11 years and our first big trip was after the army.
Ever since we felt that trips are something that connects us, something that helps us build a strong and special relationship and a life together full of experiences, good and less.
Our tip for couples who go for a walk together for long periods is - compromise.
You will not always want the same thing and must be flexible to get along.
And most importantly, flow!
The plans almost always go wrong and do not go out as you planned, as long as you take it into account and be light, everything will go smoothly. "
What is the next destination after Mexico?
"We do not know, maybe we will return to the country a bit, and then we will continue to another place. We follow the changing guidelines of the corona and decided that it can not stop us, and what will open and interest us there we will continue, regardless of isolation or testing - life is short! We have some interesting things! On the agenda"
