Every hour counts: After the severe earthquake in Greece and Turkey, rescue teams are looking for survivors.
In the resort of Izmir, where most of the Turkish deaths have been reported so far, rescuers now hid two children and a dog.
65 hours after the severe earthquake, helpers pull three-year-old Elif out of the rubble of a collapsed house and take her to the hospital.
At the weekend, three of the girl's siblings and her mother had already been rescued.
One of the children later died of his injuries.
The joy of saving Elif is great.
Grandmother of Elif:
"I am so happy. God bless you! May Allah bring you and your children happiness! I saw Elif again."
Just a few hours earlier: Helpers rescue 14-year-old Sirin from the rubble.
After her rescuers provided first aid, the girl was taken to a nearby hospital.
Sirin was at home with her younger sister when the quake destroyed their apartment.
Sirin remained beneath the rubble until she was rescued, 58 hours after the earthquake.
Her sister did not survive the disaster.
With every hour that passes, the chances of rescuing victims from the destroyed buildings decrease.
Every rescue is a great success for the helpers - even when it comes to pets.
According to the civil protection department, 962 people were injured in the magnitude 6.9 quake in the coastal city of Izmir alone.
In the morning, the authorities reported 81 dead.
For Turkey it is the worst earthquake in nine years.
