Three days after the fatal knife attack on a 13-year-old in Berlin, an arrest warrant was issued against the alleged perpetrator.
The Berlin public prosecutor announced this via Twitter.
The 41-year-old turned himself in to the police on Monday.
Now he comes into custody.
The boy killed belonged to a group of seven, mainly children and adolescents, who were out and about in Berlin-Mitte on Saturday evening at around 10:40 p.m.
According to witness reports, there was an argument between the group and a man in a tunnel at Monbijoupark across from Museum Island.
The man, who has Turkish citizenship, is said to have stabbed the 13-year-old Syrian and a 22-year-old with a knife.
The boy died despite attempts at resuscitation at the scene, the 22-year-old was taken to hospital.
The perpetrator fled.
The police have no evidence of a racist motive.
