The video above (which is not easy to watch) is a recording of the moment the stomach turns into a twisting leech found by a throat surgeon of a five-year-old boy in China.
Local media reported that the leech lived inside the child for more than a year and caused him to suffer from breathing problems and persistent sore throat.
Doctors believe that the blood-sucking parasite enters the child's body while drinking contaminated water.
The case was discovered after the boy's family recently took him for medical advice at the Shuangjiang Folk High School in Yunnan Province in southwest China.
He was immediately hospitalized and scheduled for surgery to remove the parasite on October 16th.

The photographs from the operation show the rather disgusting moment in which the surgeon pulled the brown worm out of the young man's throat with a pair of forceps.
"We think the child's breathing problems were caused by the leech," said the surgeon, holding the twisting worm, "he may be drinking unclean water."
Doctors at the hospital have warned families, especially those living in rural areas, to educate their children about the dangers of consuming contaminated water.
