The final spurt to the US presidential election is underway and celebrities in the country are taking positions - especially for the Democratic challenger Joe Biden.

With performances in the US state of Pennsylvania, artists worked hard for him and his runner-up candidate Kamala Harris.

In addition, dozens of stars called on to cast their votes.

World star Beyoncé clearly signaled to her 155 million fans on Instagram which candidate she supported.

The R&B singer showed up with a face mask labeled Biden / Harris and a slouch hat with an "I have chosen" badge.

The native Texan, she turned to the people in her home state.

"Make it Texas," Beyoncé wrote.

The populous state has been going to Republicans for decades.

Donald Trump was well ahead of Democrat Hillary Clinton in 2016.

Polls now predict a much closer race.

Taylor Swift, who announced herself as a Biden supporter weeks ago, cheered on Monday in a video to vote.

She is now probably the one millionth person to remember the vote, but "please" do it, warned the pop and country singer.

Ariana Grande, Zendaya and Eminem also gave the Democrats support on their social media.

"Batman" star Michael Keaton called on voters in his home state of Pennsylvania to vote for Biden.

"It depends on us," said the 69-year-old actor in a video clip he posted on Twitter on Monday.

"We have the chance to be heroes."

Pennsylvania is one of the hotly contested "swing states" and in 2016 it just went to Trump.

According to surveys, Biden now has a chance of winning there.

She once lived here in Pennsylvania, said superstar Lady Gaga on the stage in Pittsburgh to get votes for Biden.

She wore a sweatshirt with Biden's name in the heart logo.

"Let's vote Trump out," shouted the singer.

"We have the power to end this nightmare," said multiple Grammy winner John Legend on Harris' campaign stage in Philadelphia.

Trump is a coward, a failure and a liar, whose lies some "previously popular rappers" have fallen for.

Legend didn't mention any names, but he probably alluded to rapper Lil Wayne, who raved about a "great" meeting with Trump last week.

Trump and Wayne posed for a photo in Florida.

Trump has assured African Americans help, Wayne wrote in his tweet.

Few artists support the Republican, including rapper-rocker Kid Rock, punk pioneer John Lydon, Kiss co-founder Ace Frehley and, at times, rapper Kanye West.

Trump is running for a second and constitutionally final term.

The former Vice President Biden wants to replace him.
