Bridgefy is protected.
The app used by protesters around the world, which bypasses censorship by not using the internet but the phone's bluetooth connection, has announced the introduction of end-to-end encryption, the safest one, found on chats such as Signal, WhatsApp , Messenger and, in part, Telegram.
Bridgefy allows you to exchange messages offline, i.e. without a Wi-Fi or cellular connection.
In fact, the application uses Bluetooth to chat if you are within a hundred meters, for example at school or at a festival, but also during a natural disaster, when normal communication lines are no longer accessible.
The app was born in 2014, after the earthquake that hit Mexico City. And it is no coincidence - as reported by the tech site TechCrunch - it is now heavily downloaded in Greece and Turkey, countries recently hit by an earthquake. Being offline has also made Bridgefy widely used in protests, from Hong Kong to Nigeria, via Thailand.
