Amid controversy over whether vaccination against the coronavirus will be mandatory.
The Secretary of Access to Health, Carla Vizzotti, this Thursday reversed what she had stated days ago and assured that the Government's objective is to "build trust" so that the population does so voluntarily.
"The application of
no vaccine against covid is going to be mandatory
. What we explain is that the vaccines on the calendar by law are free and mandatory vaccines, and that this is an exceptional situation, with a campaign that will have a size and particularities , just like the anti-flu campaign after the H1N1 pandemic, "the official explained in statements to
TN
.
And he added: "We bet that trust is built and
the population decides voluntarily and adheres to vaccination
."
Vizzotti traveled to Moscow days ago with an adviser to President Alberto Fernández to sign an agreement to purchase the Russian vaccine Sputnik V.
