They raided 35 homes in Argentina as part of the operation "Luz de Infancia VII"
against pedophilia
.
There have already been detainees and some suspects work in the public function.
The objective of the operation is to identify the perpetrators of crimes of
abuse and sexual exploitation
against children and adolescents practiced on the Internet.
These people provided the material
through P2P
(Peer to Peer)
platforms such
as "eMule", "BitTorrent" and "Raza", which are used by network users to copy images and videos.
Each user performs both server and client roles, because others can download files from their computers.
This is a seventh part of the investigation for which last year Ricardo Russo, a doctor at the Garrahan Hospital, was sentenced to ten years in prison.
The court determined that it produced, possessed, and facilitated the distribution of photos and videos of child sexual exploitation.
The detainees provided the material through P2P platforms such as "eMule" and "Raza".
Of the 35 addresses that were searched in the country,
15 were in the City.
They were requested by the Office of the Specialized Prosecutor for Computer Crimes of the Buenos Aires Public Ministry (UFEDyCI), which was created by the attorney general Juan Bautista Mahiques and is headed by Dr. Daniela Dupuy.
The operations were coordinated by the Judicial Investigations Corps, which reports directly to the prosecution.
And they had the support of the police of the City, Buenos Aires, and national forces.
The rest of the raids - a total of 20 - were carried out in the Province of Buenos Aires, Córdoba, Chaco, Santa Fe and Entre Ríos.

There were raids in Asunción and Ciudad del Este, with two people arrested.

Panama
, the Public Ministry reported that there were seven search procedures.

A mega-operation that takes three years
The operation "
Childhood Light
"
began in January 2017, in Brazil, with 108 arrested for committing crimes related to pedophilia in the virtual world.
This first phase had involved the analysis of 9,868 files, from 205 targets investigated in that country.
The second part,
"Luz de Infancia II"
, started in February 2018 and involved 26 Brazilian states.
As reported by the Buenos Aires Public Prosecutor's Office, this procedure was built with the analysis of 1,088,628 photos and videos.
The balance was 202 people imprisoned.
In September 2018, in the
"Luz de Infancia III"
phase
, they found suspicious IP addresses of Argentine origin that shared 890 thousand files "with child sexual abuse content."
Based on this warning, 41 raids were carried out in 10 provinces and in the City.
Garrahan's doctor, Ricardo Russo, fell into that investigation.
After the raid on his home and the kidnapping of computers, "a large number of images and videos of child sexual exploitation were found," the Public Prosecutor's Office reported at the time.

The operation “
Luz de infantil IV
”, launched in March 2019, was triggered in 26 states of Brazil.
It resulted in the execution of 266 arrest warrants and 141 people arrested.
In September of the same year, “
Luz de infantil V
” included simultaneous raids in the United States, Ecuador, Brazil, Chile, El Salvador, Paraguay and Panama.
Already in February 2020, the troops in charge of “
Luz de Infancia VI
” managed to dismantle a child pornography network that operated in Brazil, Colombia, Paraguay, Ecuador and Panama.
