They needed a little start-up, but now they have made it: After 14 sons, a couple from the USA finally had a daughter, as reported by several US media.

"We are overwhelmed and more than excited to welcome Maggie into our family," said father Jay Schwandt.

It all started with Tyler 28 years ago.

The eldest son of Kateri and Jay Schwandt, now both 45 years old, was born while they were still in training.

Then came Zach, Drew, Brandon, Tommy, Vinny, Calvan, Gabe, Wesley, Charlie, Luke, Tucker, Francisco and Finley - until Wednesday night when Maggie Jayne was born.

"This year is memorable in many ways, but Maggie is the greatest gift we could have imagined," said Schwandt.

The Schwandts met at school and married in 1993.

You live in the state of Michigan in the northern United States.

His parents never expected to have a girl after all, the eldest son, Tyler, told a local newspaper.

He still couldn't quite believe it himself.

The family is just a man's world.

"I don't even know if my mother owns anything pink."

The baby will now grow up in a special family.

Media reports about the Schwandts appear again and again, and the family even has its own TV show.

The parents did not find out the gender of their children until they were born.

Mother Kateri once said in an interview: "If I were ever to have a girl, I would probably be in shock."
