From tomorrow there will be 362 thousand teachers from state schools who will carry out their activities in integrated distance learning, as a result of the last Dpcm.

They represent 45% of the teachers in service.

The calculations are made by Tuttoscuola, according to which in addition to the 265 thousand high school professors, there are over 33 thousand teachers of the second and third grades of lower secondary schools in the regions of the red band (Lombardy, Piedmont and Calabria), as well as 63 thousand other teachers of the first cycle and the kindergarten blocked in Campania by the order of the governor De Luca.

In Puglia, on the other hand, from tomorrow the classes of the first cycle will again be able to operate in presence.

Consequently, the total number of students at home decreases: in all from Monday they will be 3 million and 700 thousand (44% of the total), of which 625 thousand are Campania students from kindergarten to middle school, 316 thousand pupils of the second and third average of the "red" regions (Lombardy, Piedmont and Calabria) and 3 million and 734 thousand high school students from all over Italy.

Those 362,000 teachers forced to work in DAD, with an average age of 51 years, will take care of them, who will be able to work from home, rather than from school, subject to the authorization of the school head, as specified by a ministerial application note of the recent Supplementary contract on Integrated Digital Education (DDI).

Of the 362 thousand teachers currently engaged in distance learning, about 75 thousand - estimated by Tuttoscuola - are precarious with fixed-term contracts.

Almost everyone met their pupils only a few weeks ago, and will therefore have an added difficulty.

They will also have to operate using, if they work from home, a technological equipment purchased at their own expense, since, unlike their regular colleagues, they cannot even use the teacher's card for purchases (the bonus of 500 euros per year reserved only for teachers with permanent contracts).

In total, there are over 806 thousand teachers in service, including permanent teachers and annual alternates or until the end of the activities (30 June) (100,171 in kindergarten, 257,334 in primary school, 183,505 in 1st grade and, as already specified, 265,319 in superior).

No less than 170,000 are lecturers with fixed-term contracts, and of these about 75,000 are now engaged in distance learning.

With reference to all the teachers involved in the DDI, Campania has the highest number of teachers involved (100% of the 93,539 in service), followed by the three regions in the red band with percentages between 46% and 51% of the teachers involved.

Overall, however, Lombardy has the highest number of teachers in DAD, after Campania: 54,719 out of 120,060 in service.

The Region with the lowest percentage of teachers who connect remotely with their students is Lazio, with 32.4%.

Molise is the one with the lowest number in absolute value, with 1,651 teachers working remotely (equal to 36%).
