- WASHINGTON, 09 NOV - Joe Biden and his transition team have announced the creation of the anti Covid task force, which will be composed of 13 members, including three co-presidents: former head of the Food and drug administration (Fda) David Kessler, former Surgeon General "Vivek Murty and Yale professor Marcella Nunez-Smith. Other members include Rick Bright, the vaccine expert who denounced the Trump government's pressure on hydroxychloroquine, and the Italian-American Luciana Borio, a Biodefense expert who worked in the FDA and the National Security Council.
The "Transition Covid-19 Advisory Board" is made up of a group of doctors and scientists with long experience and different skills, who have worked extensively with previous administrations and guided the country's response to national and global health crises.
"Managing the Pandemic is one of the most important battles facing our administration and I will be informed by science and experts," said Wilmington's elected president.
The task force, he added, "will help shape my approach to manage the increase in infections, ensure that vaccines are safe, effective and distributed efficiently, fairly and without cost, and protect the population groups at risk".
