(ANSA) - ROME, NOVEMBER 09 - It is a female triad that dominates in the fourth season of The Crown, the new chapter (set between 1979 and the beginning of the 90s) of the award-winning series created by Peter Morgan, about the by Elizabeth II (the ever masterful Olivia Colman), coming to Netflix on November 15th.

In a reality where strong women are not lacking, from Queen Margaret's sister (Helena BonhamCarter) to her daughter Anna (Erin Doherty), two personalities who have marked the history of the final part of the 20th century, Princess Diana (Emma Corrin) and Margaret, burst into history. Thatcher (an extraordinary Gillian Anderson, who we will surely see again in contention for all the major awards of the season).

Corrin, who has already emerged with the Pennyworth series, is up to the challenge.

Aided by the great resemblance to the Princess of Wales, it reflects the mixture of charm, naivety and instinctive intelligence of the 18-year-old Diana that leads to winning the favor of the royal family in the first official meeting, at Balmoral.

The fourth season also traces the evolution of Diana's personality, which includes even before her marriage to Carlo (Josh O'Connor) the danger represented by Camilla and struggles to adapt to a 'rigid and antiquated' court label.

However, the young princess does not allow herself to be crushed.

Even more successful, Gillian Anderson's chameleonic performance, from walking to speaking to posture, for Margaret Thatcher.

The actress embodies with authority and traces of vulnerability a woman who feels constantly undisputed by a male-dominated class politics.

A period of transformation ready to culminate in the media shocks, between scandals and collective mourning, of the following years, which we will see told by The Crown 5 and 6. Last two chapters for which there will be the last change of cast, with Imelda Staunton for the Queen, Jonathan Pryce for Philip, Lesley Manville for Margaret, Elizabeth Debicki for Diana and Dominic West for Prince Charles.
