Miss France 2021: the election postponed to December 19

2020-11-09T20:09:05.877Z

The reconfinement, which could be prolonged, requires to review the date of the ceremony of TF1, which was to take place on Saturday, December 12.

Who will succeed Clémence Botino, the reigning Miss France?

If the ceremony of the next election is still scheduled in Puy-du-Fou (Vendée), same place as twelve years ago, we will have to wait a little longer to know which of the 29 new contenders will be crowned.

According to our information, the date of the sacrament of Miss France 2021 has just changed: Sylvie Tellier, the patron of the event, and TF1 are now betting on Saturday, December 19 and no longer on the 12, as initially announced via Jean-Pierre Foucault.

A time mentioned, the postponement to January 2021 was put aside.

In question, the reconfinement, which upset once again the plans, after a chaotic year.

"We are in the 1543rd scenario," slips a member of the organization.

The production thus hopes to count on the presence of the public, even small.

A jury of former winners

Other information, the jury will not be made up of popular singers, famous couturiers or side actors as for the other editions.

For this hundredth anniversary, the director of the company Miss France has imagined an unprecedented casting: 100% of the judges for one evening will be former Miss France.

Another question remains to be settled: who will be and who will not?

Which amounts to a real puzzle.

Without necessarily wanting to, Sylvie Tellier has also just revived the Miss war behind the scenes.

At the same time, the one who succeeded Geneviève de Fontenay wishes to involve around thirty Misses in this great popular festival.

But some are already planning to boycott the ceremony, for different reasons.

An election will never have been as complicated as in 2020. First victim of the context: the reigning beauty queen, Clémence Botino, whom we have seen little.

Confined first to her home in Guadeloupe, during the first confinement in March, she then had to face a fire in the building of her "official apartment", in the 17th arrondissement of Paris.

And be relocated urgently.

She has just finished her tour of the regional elections, with the election of Miss Rhône-Alpes on Saturday in Ambérieu-en-Bugey, behind closed doors.

A last local coronation which had been postponed for two weeks "as a precaution" given the health situation.

To maintain the competition at all costs, some candidates had to content themselves with sending videos to apply, just to start the process despite the country's first seal.

In this context, no trip to heavenly places to prepare for the competition, like in other years.

No question for the entire organization, almost 80 people in total, to fly to the other side of the world, to film the portraits of the candidates.

An option is still being studied in metropolitan France at the beginning of December.

Even the West Indies, once imagined, are no longer the order of the day.

"There is absolutely no question of the election not taking place," Sylvie Tellier told us in April.

Even if it is done under special conditions, it will be done.
