 - Provide producers and farmers with the right knowledge to adapt to climate change and increase their resilience.

This is the goal of the Life Ada (ADaptation in Agriculture) project, the UnipolSai lead partner which, with a budget of 2 million, half of which is co-financed by the EU, is destined for farmers and Organizations of Producers in the dairy supply chains (Parmigiano Reggiano), wine, fruit and vegetables.

Many partners are involved, such as Arpae Emilia-Romagna, Cia-Agricoltori Italiani, Crea, Festambiente, Legacoop Agroalimentare Northern Italy, Leithà and the Emilia-Romagna Region, in the project to start in Emilia-Romagna and then be replicated in Veneto, Tuscany and Lazio. for a total of 6,000 individual farmers in the 4 regions and 15,000 farmers nationwide.

In the long term, the potential number of users in the three selected supply chains will be 242,000 farmers, representing over 1.1 million workers and 2.6 million hectares of utilized agricultural area.

The initiative, which will be presented on November 13, is based on the implementation of an innovative model of public-private partnership between insurance, public administration (Regions), technical-scientific institutions, NGOs and aggregate forms of producers (Opi or cooperatives) .

In particular, we want to improve the ability of farmers to face climate risks, build adequate support tools and promote an innovative approach on the part of insurance.

In the long term, some impacts foreseen by the project are a 1% reduction in CO2 emissions, 2% NH3 emissions, 5% water and energy consumption, both by 5%, as well as a 3% improvement in the resilience of inhabitants to floods and a 17% increase in sustainable management of agricultural areas over the three years of the project.
